The client brief was to design a layout to display a traditional fusion with modern items within an 1870’s warehouse. The warehouse had restored timber beams, exposed original brickwork and updated electrical. Located in Newtown, the private space was on the first level above a commercial space and is owned by a young professional couple. The clients also wanted the latest technology and to keep all the original aspects and ambiance of the building.
With this in mind, I was able to combine both the traditional style with the most modern lighting, technology and other items which is featured throughout. The kitchen was the main design aspect within the project as this had to be designed and built from scratch.
With plenty of natural light entering the building throughout the year, I chose a neutral colour palette highlighted with simple grey tones and with a splash of marine colours in the decor. The time line for this project was two months with a large budget to allow me to produce a luxurious and elegant feel.
